That’s Why I Praise You

John P. Kee

Psalm 18:3

Lead: Send the storm, send the rain

Another trial laced in pain

I’ve seen joy, I’ve seen tears

Had a little doubt and I’ve walked in fear

I’ve been deceived so many times

You gave me peace, You even kept my mind

You’re worthy to be praised

Choir: Lord, I’m so grateful

For all You’ve done

You opened blinded eyes that I might see the light

All things that were wrong You came along and made them right

You’ve been faithful

Lead: I’ve given out, I’ve given in

But by Your power I still win

There are people running scared of what they see

Trying to find a way out of misery

Rumors of war threaten our land

But I know You got it all in the palm of your hand

You’re worthy to be praised

Choir: Lord, I’m so grateful

For all You’ve done

You made a way when I felt there was no way

Shined Your light on my life and right now I can say

You’ve been faithful

Vamp: That’s why I praise You (3x)

You’re worthy to be praised

(modulate as directed)

Synonyms 3. honor, homage, adoration, idolatry. 7. honor, venerate, revere, adore, glorify, idolize, adulate.

Worship – revere, honor. For instance, a King, when you come into his presence, you honor him. Same with a judge. He/She doesn’t have to do anything to deserve it, but just because of the title he or she holds, you do it. Same with God. We worship God just because He’s God

Praise – this is where it’s personal. God does stuff for us. He’s a deliverer, He’s a way-maker, He’s (on and on and on and on and on). Praise is commendation or laudation. You only commend people when they’ve done something. That’s why we praise God, because of the things He’s done.
